How to get here?

Unbelievable but true! Húsavík has it's own airport.

You can select one of two daily flights offered by Eagle Air from Reyjavik Airport. The 45 minute flight in a tiny plane will just pass by in an instant.

Ask us for a shuttle service.

Beautifully located in the bay is our "biggest" airport of the North in Akureyri.

Up to four daily flights in modern turboprop planes offered by Air Iceland are available.

Onward per rental car, taxi (expensive!) or local bus service (cheap but only twice a day) on a one hour drive to Húsavík.

A very convenient way to travel to Húsavík. We recommend a SUV as a rental car (if you like to explore the beautyspots and do not intend to get stuck)

  • from Reykavík         475 km [6 hours]
  • from Akureyri          90 km [1 hour]
  • from Seyðisfjörður 245 km [3 hours]

you will reach Húsavík on N1 & N85 east-bound or on N1 & N87 westbound

If you intend to bring your own car you will have to get on board the MS Norröna operated by Smyril Line.
The ferry operates once a week from Hirtshals in Denmark via Torshavn on the Faroe Islands to Seyðisfjörður in Iceland.
Travelling time is approximately 3 days (depending on weather and sea conditions).
